In December I posted the WIP of this, and spent the next six weeks off and on working on it. I had wanted to do something to follow up this older greenhouse piece (slide 2) for ages, and the time was horribly right to illustrate a sincere apology.
"Forgive me" looks prettier, but that is a request, and an apology is owed nothing. What Aziraphale means to say (what I mean to say) is that he's sorry, with all his heart.
Purple hyacinth represents sorrow and asking forgiveness. He offers a flaming sword ginger flower (his heart).
