WIP: Come to the fair!
Added 2022-03-10 18:59:08 +0000 UTCI've been piling a LOT of WIPs on you guys, I promise I'll finish something here. But this is for an upcoming zine! It's rainbow-themed, and I got yellow (natch), so this will mostly be in yellow. I knew instantly what I wanted to do, and I think I pulled it off (so far). How many plushies will they walk out with? Surely Aziraphale will take them all to his local shelter the next day.
I love carnivals, I go just to stand on the midway at dusk and look all around at the rainbow lights. I love the food, the lemonade, the ringing of prize bells, the smell of hay strewn around, the weird magic of seeing these bonkers candy-colored manmade machines that exist just to toss people around like ragdolls. That psycho Music Express ride that goes 10,000 miles an hour and plays Metallica at 200 decibels, pig races, funnel cakes, big soft pretzels, elotes, grown men walking around with giant pink plush gorillas, the Super Mega Happy Fun Slide, shit that should never be deep-fried but is, the primal thrill of watching a monster truck launch over six cars... Mostly it's just the joy in the air. Ahh, I miss it!
