Added 2022-12-22 15:12:17 +0000 UTCBeen looking to cover this one ever since I made the Earwig video. I have so much to say, most of them can't even fit into the video itself. Parts like explaining each character's origin, the inspirations behind them, etc, have to be cut to keep the video on pace.
Maybe one day I'll make another video on how the director of this film, who also directed Stand By Me Doraemon, is quickly becoming Japan's leading 3DCG director. But for now, hopefully this is a fun video to watch!

The suggestion at the end of making a double feature night with The First and Castle of Cagliostro is a good one, the feature girl in each is a charming (underage) ingenue so they bypass some of the sleazier interpretations of Lupin in the interest of taste (something Indy Jones didn't do in Raiders of the Lost Ark) and they're both action adventure tales with magical/technical macguffins.
