Added 2024-06-11 14:15:08 +0000 UTCI'm surprised it took this long for City Hunter to finally receive a Japanese live-action adaptation. But it's definitely worth the wait. From minute one, the film knows exactly how to show off its style and flare. It's one of the better anime adaptations out there, and one that doesn't require you to know the source material to enjoy.
With that said, I'm here to introduce the series to you anyway.

Six, no, ten months later, and I finally found it. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. Edit: upon re-watching the video, I realized that initially I'd stopped watching when you told me to, went to find the movie to watch, didn't find it, and never came back to finish out watching the video. Now that I have, I want to say that not only are you correct, but that my nostalgia for the 80s was entirely subconscious. Unlike some movies explicitly set in the 80s, they didn't rub your face in it. As a result, the movie just felt right, without constantly drawing my attention to what I liked about it.
