New Concept Art

Every now and then, as I work on the game, a little surprise happens - a volunteer will contact me and let me know that they were struck with inspiration and created something for the game purely of their own accord. Sometimes, their creation is concept art for something they'd like to see added to the game in the future.

In this particular case, my lead artist Mulberry felt inspired to design new performance outfits for the Light Music Club - the outfits that they would wear if I ever added 3D visuals to the rhythm minigame. I can't actually offer any promise that these outfits will get modeled, or that the 3D visuals will become a reality, but I still really appreciated the fact that she felt like designing new outfits for them, so I uploaded the designs here for you to see! Enjoy!

If any character is my least favorite character, I just change them until I like them more. So, there isn't really any character I strongly dislike - just ones I am relatively indifferent towards.

YandereDev

Hello YandereDev, I have a question out of curiosity: you mention your favorite characters are Info-Chan, Ryoba, and Megami, do have any Least favorite characters that are worth mentioning, or is that too much of a spoiler? If so, you don't have to answer.

Cynically Naive

Some Aishi might agree to share the Senpai. Others would fight their own sibling to the death over the Senpai.

YandereDev

I have a question. Let’s imagine that a pair of Aishi twins existed, and they both got the senpai effect from the same person. What exactly would happen?

Devin Scalise

Some Aishis have a firm understanding of the Aishi Condition and are acutely aware that what they feel for their Senpai is not "love", it's a physiological dependency. Some Aishis do not have an understanding of the condition, and mistakenly believe that they are feeling "love" instead of a physical+psychological need. Some Aishis understand the Aishi Condition, but also genuinely fall in love with their Senpai on top of feeling the Aishi Condition. The "True Ending" cutscene of Yandere Simulator will reveal which of these categories Ayano is in.

YandereDev

Since you've updated Ayano's personality, would you say that she loves Taro? Obviously not in the normal way, but she is a Yandere and has Obsessive love disorder but I just wanted to ask you.

Yunama-Official

Since he only helps the player after the player has helped his brother, I see "He's earning money to provide his little brother with a good life" as his canon motivation.

YandereDev

Hey YanDev awhile ago you suggested a few personalities/motivations for the Yakuza, but now that he's an official feature of the game which one do you see as canon?

Yunama-Official

You will learn more about the Journalist's late wife in the final game.

YandereDev

Was the Journalists late wife an Aishi? Or was she just a regular Yandere?

Yunama-Official

Yes, there have been male Aishi in the past.

YandereDev

Oh! I've been wondering about something, do you think there's been any other male Aishi's in the past? Or would Ayato be the first of his kind? If he gets funded of course lol.

Yunama-Official

So I guess it is fair to assume, if the Senpai is in a willing relationship, that as long as it doesn't involve the Senpai breaking up or threatening to live, Aishis solve marital fights like normal couples? Or is some implicit threat of violence always present when there is a fight? I suppose even the most in love and behaved Senpais must have some disagreements at some point.

SharkMidori

No, not all Senpais have the same experience. Some Senpais never even learn that their wife is a serial killer. Some Senpais are coerced into a forced, loveless relationship through threats or blackmail. Some Senpais are kidnapped, mindbroken, and basically become empty shells who are kept by their Aishi almost like a pet. Jokichi doesn't fit cleanly into any of those categories, he's kind of a special case, but you'll have to wait until more basement tapes are released to hear his full story. Not all Aishis had to kill multiple rivals in order to secure their Senpais, but many of them did. Not all Senpais were conventionally attractive.

YandereDev

For this time I have 2 questions: Do all Senpais eventually go through the "basement experience" at least once? Given it is a lifetime relationship, maybe I am wrong but I just feel like it is, even for Senpais that are deeply in love with their Aishis and well behaved, this is some sort of "rite of passage" when marrying them that will eventually happen. Do all Senpais have a "harem" or multiple girls after them or have there been cases of Aishis finding their Senpais in conventionally unattractive men or men that just don't have other girls after that, like the original game Senpai?

SharkMidori

Oh mi werd these look tuu good!! I’m like totes excited for this ;o!!
