The Non-video Update!

Hey Patreons!

I’m scrambling to get next week’s Crusader video done which will be about 40 minutes long-ish and is requiring a lot of editing again. So, in the interests of time, I’m going to write out the Patreon update this week. Hope that’s ok!

It has become very apparent now since the Crusader video yesterday that many of you, and many of the regular subscribers, have been eagerly waiting for another Battlestorm. At the writing of this, that video has 7,061 views, 727 likes and just 3 dislikes (probably from people either defending Churchill, or saying that the Siege of Tobruk was Rommel’s first defeat - which isn’t the case because the siege ended as a result of Crusader). That has to be one of the best like to dislike ratios I’ve ever had on a video! And it’s made me realise that Battlestorm is what you guys want more than anything else.

With all that in mind, I think the main message right now is that - “Crusader must come first!” And this must be our slogan, kinda like the “Not a step back!” order was a slogan. Priority must be Crusader - all power to the BATTLESTORMS! (tell me when I take this too far)

Well, I’m very much aware that all the coming videos are going to require heavy editing, and I don’t want to miss a beat. Therefore, in order to get every single Crusader video out in time, I’m going to prioritize them over anything else.

So, for those of you pledging $5 or more, what I’m going to do is post a Q&A post tomorrow for you to ask questions on. I was doing it tri-weekly, but with Crusader being the priority at the moment, what I’m going to do for the time being is use them as a “get out of jail free” card (so, if I think I’m not going to be able to get a Crusader video finished in time, I’ll quickly record a Q&A video for that week, which will then give me time to finish the Crusader video for the week after). I still want to do one once a month though, so if I don’t have to use it as a last-minute thing, I’ll either post it as an extra video at the end of the month, or just post it on a Monday anyway, which will then allow me to get ahead with Crusader. After Crusader is over, we'll probably return to the tri-weekly schedule.

In terms of the map making videos for those of you donating $10 or more, I was doing them bi-weekly. But considering that just 4 of you watched the last one I made (the Arnhem map tutorial), 3 watched the one before, and 5 watched the one before that, I think what might be best at the minute is if wait until after Crusader is done before making any more. If anyone’s unhappy with this, let me know and I’ll see what options I have. I have just uploaded a couple more maps to imgur that I used in the Crusader video, and you can find the link in a previous map-making post. For those who are new, I do have a few map making videos already uploaded. So, if you click on the "maps" tag on the left of my Patreon page, it should bring up the old posts for you.

To all the new Patreons who’ve started supporting me recently, I just want to say thank you very much for supporting me! It will make a massive difference to the quality of my videos, so thank you! And I'll be posting updates like this one on Patreon at least every-other Tuesday. Usually it’s a video, but Crusader takes priority at the moment :)
