Synopsis: A very evil TV executive made a pact with Hell to secure power on Earth. That culminated in a ritual to create a global hellmouth via a holiday special on live network TV. You all have assembled at the New York studio to keep the ritual contained so the hellmouth is merely temporary. You have to keep your counter ritual going for the entire duration of the special or the world is doomed.
