RPPR Illustrated: Cointract Island - The Courier

This is a creature for our upcoming Fate campaign, Cointract Island. It's a genetically engineered chimera with cybernetic implants and it runs on the blockchain. What could go wrong?

COINtracter Courier

The unique creatures created on Cointract Island are designed with three major components: biological, hardware, and software. All three systems run in harmony so the creature obeys a human. Ownership is conferred through NFT. Each creature has a NFT assigned to it embedded in its cybernetic hardware and software.

An owner must issue commands via a computer device running Cointract NFT software. The software links to the embedded cybernetic implant. The implant verifies the NFT is valid and makes the creature obey the command.

Chimera or “Biocomp”: A chimera (known as a biocomp in Cointract documentation, short for biological companion) is a genetically engineered hybrid organism. Chimera without implants are essentially wild animals, although the level of intelligence varies greatly.

Bio Contracts or COINTRACT: A bio contract is software running in special cybernetic implants. The implant is wedded to a chimera’s nervous system to control them. Bio contract software uses a specific NFT as a key to issue commands.

COINtracter: a genetically engineered creature with cybernetic COINTRACT implant running Bio Contract/COINTRACT software.

The Courier model

The first successful chimera breed, the courier is roughly the size and shape of a large dog with avian features. Its head somewhat resembles a shoebill stork. The designers used multiple animals including several breeds of dog, homing pigeons and the shoebill stork, as its base. The courier was designed to transport small to medium packages across a city. Each courier is fitted with a harness with a cargo module. The module can easily transport 5 pizza boxes or about 25 pounds of weight.

Restaurants and retailers use couriers to transport orders to customers. Some residents use them to transport sensitive data on USB drives or other important materials. They are intelligent enough to navigate urban and wild environments but are patient enough to wait motionless for hours between missions.

Couriers are allowed to use work routes on the island. Work routes are special tunnels and pathways used for workers and deliveries so that residents are not bothered with them. Some buildings have special access corridors only large enough for couriers, although a human could crawl through them.

Nah, I'm sure the cargo is quite safe :)

That.... That does not look safe.

What a great concept! You should sell NFTs of this art :)

So glad to see that doorknobs pose no challenge to these creatures. That is in no way ominous, and I'm sure it will only lead to packages being delivered safely and directly to clients and nothing else. Please excuse me while I fortify the entrances to my house for unrelated reasons.

Using the genetics of stalking and pack hunting predators is fiinnneeee

I can't wait for this

Robin Gonzales

Wow! What a fantastic idea this is! Surely there will be no problems in the future!
