I think Dr. Garland was led to March Tech by the sapient cancer. I think the Mi-Go are just bringing back the Greys in general.

Are the mi-go using Greys to interact with Dr. Garland because, being a former employee of March Technologies, those are the forms he would be familiar with and "understand"? And did Dr. Garland work for MJ-12 before it spun off into different parts (one of which became March Technologies) and firsthand experience with the Greys, or did he only hear of them secondhand while at March?
