Merry Christmas! Sorry, looks like YouTube took this down (for a while it was just blocked in Belgium, France, Canada, and Switzerland due to copyright claims). But it can be streamed or downloaded from here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1R8PHVDKn5UR0qxa-kziCCGXNBO7hGdd0
I also put a copy up on Odysee: https://odysee.com/@GordoTEK:1/GTEK-TripTrack-2-Hopkins-Playlist-Audio-Only:f
Downloading is required for offline use or to guarantee no interruptions. If your device doesn't like the m4a file, try this MP3 version.
The purpose of this soundtrack is to provide music intended to complement and enhance a deep psychedelic experience. I do recommend a comfortable eye mask that does not touch your eyelashes or lids.
I took some minor liberties in creating this version of the Hopkins playlist but it is a very good representation. A few of the original selections just didn't resonate in my opinion, but instead of removing them entirely, I moved them to the end as "filler" material that people most likely will never get to. Also I did not specifically seek out the exact recordings that the Hopkins team used, instead I searched for all available versions (with classical music there are typically dozens of versions out there on YouTube), I then took the time to carefully review and select only the best available renditions of the particular piece (audio quality and subjective ratings being major factors). I then went through a painstaking process of editing, mixing, and doing sound level adjustments. In a few cases I got creative and combined different versions of the same song into a single track with overlaid vocals turning solos into duets and making a brand new creation. I hope you enjoy it!
Please note that I also created this playlist to match the stages of a psilocybin journey, so like the original playlist from Hopkins, the timings of the various pieces are intentional and meant to match the stage of your journey (come up, peak, and come down). You may be wondering how I did that if I moved some of the original songs to the end? I compensated for that by choosing longer versions of some songs and adding a few selections as well. It is also worth pointing out that newer research at Johns Hopkins found that other types of music likely work just as well as the classical pieces as I suggested in my commentary. See:
Set and Setting: A Randomized Study of Different Musical Genres in Supporting Psychedelic Therapy
The original Hopkins playlist came from "Sacred Knowledge: Psychedelics and Religious Experiences" by William A. Richards
I posted the exact playlist from the book here.
