It's a comedic take on metagaming, minmaxing, and role playing that still resonates today. They were written from 1986 to 2000 by Roger M. Wilcox and you can still read them from his home page today.

2023-03-13 18:17:56 +0000 UTCThe commonly accepted etymology seems to be that ones who were most often doing it were younger gamers (tweens and teens), so munchkin was used to describe them since munchkin was already being used to describe those people at the table. Remembering my first games, that definitely scans.
