Apple iOS subscriptions

Just a quick update.
If you don't use the iPhone for the subscription you can skip this.
Short Story
No iOS payment will be possible from November.
Long Story
Apple requires a certain type of subscription from November, otherwise they block the payments from Patreon.
There would be a way to avoid this, but the drawback is that you or me would need to pay up to 50% more for each subscription on Apple devices. I don't want to pay Apple for their closed payment system more than I pay Patreon (3x) or what I pay in taxes (2x), thus I decided that it is not worthy.
They just transfer money from your credit card to Patreon and they ask for 50% commission, it's insane. :/

But as far as I understood until Nov 2025, for those who already have an ongoing payment , nothing should change

2024-08-12 17:20:23 +0000 UTCSure, you can always use paypal or credit card on the browser, even from iOS. The problem is just the Patreon in-app payments. :)
