MustardUI tools/improvements ideas?
Added 2025-04-14 20:10:56 +0000 UTCHi!
Just a quick post as a call for feedbacks on MustardUI. :)
Quick recap for those who don't have a lot of time to read. If you have any idea for MustardUI improvements and/or new tools (both creators and users), please let me know at:
https://github.com/Mustard2/MustardUI/issues/246 (no NSFW!)
And now the longer version..
Call for ideas!
I know MustardUI is not a perfect tool, and sometime it might be complicated to use, especially for model users. Lately I changed a couple of stuffs to make it hopefully more user-friendly (e.g., make more visible the Model selection panel where Viewport Model Selection is active), and updated the user documentation (now on https://github.com/Mustard2/MustardUI/wiki/User-Guide ). But there's much more work to do I guess. :)
And this brings me to the topic: do you have any feature that you would like to be implemented? These can be features/tools for both creators (e.g., to simplify model creation or their interaction with MustardUI) and users (e.g., to simplify the use of the UI, the physics, etc..).
For instance, if you are doing something repetitive while using the models or creating them, it might be a good idea for a tool. :D
Please post your ideas on (avoid explicit NSFW references/images):
https://github.com/Mustard2/MustardUI/issues/246
This will help me keep track of all the requests/ideas, and ensure I don't forget any idea.
If you have any really specific NSFW idea, please contact me privately via PM.
Side note/personal rambling talk
Some other creators are preparing a website "portal" with models with UIs in Blender.
Since someone asked, I would like to clarify my position on this idea. I also thought about it, i.e. to integrate the models with a website where you could download models or at least their configuration. But that would make the addon linked to an external website and defeat the purpose of having a tool that can work simply by downloading a model (and installing the addon once). I want to keep the addon completely free to use for everyone (creators and users), and avoid any link with external resources that can maybe generate confusion on privacy and/or user data management. I guess, as a Blender user, you are entitled to use the software without anyone profiling your use! :)
Just to clarify, since I do have a website: my website should be free from any ads or profilation, e.g. Google AdSense or similar stuffs. The cookies are only for the dark mode and other small stuffs related to the account, but nothing is shared with third parties. The only exception is Patreon, which obviously needs your account and password to access the archive link. The only information accessible by me is the email associated to the account (information anyway available on patreon.com for any Patreon creator). But you can always delete your account entirely on the website if you wish.
End of me talking about boring stuffs. :D
Comments
I'll also make some tutorials on how to use the physics as users. There are some "tricks" that maybe I should write down, e.g. how to make the outfits follow the physics

As for the portal, keep doing your own thing. Everything works fine right now and flows well the way you have it set up. No need to complicate things further.
