Friday Rambles 2021_12_03

Wow it's the last month of 2021, a year I didn't even realize had started yet. Anyway, another Friday, another Rambles :)

* it's actually saturday, but I was too busy playing civ 6, a game I don't even like, until 4am.

* I am in a couple art secret santas in a couple communities I'm in, guess I better get started lol

* Went on Gumroad to check some stuff and found the site was redesigned. From the landing page I learned that people buy Top 10 lists. People sure buy anything, huh. Anyway, thanks for buying a monthly subscription to my personal diary.

* I should make more wallpaper packs and maybe sell an e-artbook. Thinking about doing a bunch of one-off character drawings anyway, could make a collection of 100 or so for an ebook anthology or something...

* There was a bit of discourse about zines on twitter lately and I got an urge to make my own xeroxed and stapled together diy thing lol

* Square (the payment provider company headed by Jack Ex-Twitter) is rebranding to "Block" to capitalize on the cryptocurrency and blockchain hype I guess. A shame Square is so commonly used for so many small business point of sale terminals, artists are gonna be forced to choose between supporting crypto or being able to take credit cards at conventions. Anyway this trend is super annoying but I'll probably save that for a future post.

* I'm gonna do a retrospective later this month about my 2021 art goals and where I'm at with those, and where I want to be at this point next year in 2022. Stay tuned

* I think lack of sleep has something to do with my general sense of depletion... need to prioritize that asap

* Saw Eternals this week, I didn't hate it

* hopefully I can draw something more complete this month (like in terms of composition and polish), so I can finish out the 2021 year summary with a bang. it's always fun to do the year end compilations to see how my art has changed or evolved over time. I started doing them in 2019, so this will be the 3rd one! I'll share all 3 later when this year's is done.

I've been enjoying writing out the stuff that's too long for twitter onto here, I just don't really have that many good ideas about my patreon because I'm really bad at doing regular fanart polls and exclusive pics.
