Friday Rambles Jan 28 2022

- Streamed drawing on Twitch for the first time in months, which was fun and cool. Worked on a painting of Power from Chainsaw Man, as promised. Hopefully I can stream more in the future, but I think it'll be more fun for everyone involved once I have a good process down for How To Draw. 

- I traveled to the other part of the state for the rest of the week for a family thing. After I arrived I noticed that I had forgotten to pack my Apple Pencil, which meant I couldn't use my iPad to draw. So in a delirious haze I quickly bought a new Apple Pencil from the local Target so I could continue to work on the WIP that I was hoping to finish by this week. The Pencil was DOA, would not work no matter what troubleshooting I did (and apparently it's a common problem with the Apple Pencil 2), so I returned it and decided to spend time with family instead (lol).

- Anyway, since I can't finish it this week like I planned, here's the WIP from the stream (Wow! Patreon exclusive! Wow!). Hopefully will be done soon after I'm reunited with my gear.

Other Stuff:

- Got a new Divoom Tivoo Plus for my desk. It's a really cool looking Bluetooth speaker/clock thing with a 16px LED grid display and I animated a cute screaming Skye on it.

- Last year I think I averaged 2 drawings a week or so, maybe more. So far this month, I've been posting like once a week. I actually think this slower cadence is great. I've been pretty happy with my works, since I've been exploring new techniques and stuff, and they've been received well too which is a bonus :). I've done 2 comics and 2 paintings, which is still pretty productive...

- Hit 169,420 followers this week! Never really imagined this could happen back at 69,420, but here we are... Thank you everyone...

- Actually played Needy Streamer Overload, after saying I would last week. I won't spoil the story or anything, but it's one of those games where you manage a character's stats over a given period of time and gives you multiple endings based on your choices. I managed to make it to the end, but didn't get see all the endings yet. It does delve into some dark themes related to streamer and otaku culture. Anyway the art and music are really great, and the story and themes stick with you long after you're done playing.

- After playing through Needy Streamer Overload, I wanted to play Long Live the Queen again. Pretty old, and way less fancy in terms of presentation, but in other ways deeper, and still quite fun to play. If you've played this before, you have at least some idea of what to expect for Needy Streamer Overload.

- If you're on the mobile app, you may have seen my Patreon Lens (ephemeral story-like feature thing) post. I'm planning on doing more for wips and progress and such, but I don't know if it's super interesting or anything. Might use it to post pictures of burgers too.

- The real-life career wheels are still moving along! May or may not be making some big decisions in the next 2-3 weeks.
