The Mini-Munsters
Added 2022-08-22 23:00:00 +0000 UTCWe're kicking off Munsters Month here on Patreon with this groovy(?) attempt to make The Munsters into The Archies. It's not the best incarnation of the Munsters, but it's a fun, mostly inoffensive little curiosity.
Note: When we watched this, we were under the impression that this was just a 22 minute episode of television, but since then I have learned that it originally aired as an hour-long (44 min.) special, and was later cut in half and re-aired. I've been able to track down the longer version, and they really aren't drastically different. Here's the breakdown:
1. There's more smog talk early in the episode.
2. The car dealership scene is significantly longer (and Eric's confusion about paying for the damage makes a lot more sense now).
3. The race is a lot more elaborate, and there's a scene after the race where Grandpa plans to get rich by selling transmitters for his invention.
4. We actually see the scene of the gangsters calling to invite the Munsters to the awards luncheon, and we see them kidnapping Spot.
