And that's what Mahito wants, which is genius because as a viewer I'm feeling what Yuji is feeling. If a show can pull those emotions out of you, it's great writing I don't care what anyone says

With the episode format and the changes on the sequences they did for the anime it’s hard to keep track of time, but it all has happened in a very short period of time. Itadori comes back at 23:16 and the fight with Mahito is around 23:19 so yes, Yuji basically saw Nanami and Nobara die in a period of time of around 5 minutes :( that’s some severe trauma right there.
