Mind Month Update
Added 2023-05-17 16:01:29 +0000 UTCHello everyone!
It's been a pretty crazy month for me so far, not going to lie, but it's starting to calm down a bit which should give me lots of time to get some important works underway.
First off, the next short story has been chosen! It was pretty decisive this time around, and Mindflayer Gives Novice Hero a Massage won it in the end! I'll be working on that posthaste.
In other news, we're nearing the end of Treasure of the Serpent Queen. It was a fun adventure but all things must conclude. We have the next encounter of a googirl, and then the final encounter with the Lamia Queen. This one is going to have a lot of different conclusions depending on how you play the last couple encounters and your decisions therein.
Which means, since the final encounter is already locked in, this month we'll be voting on what the next cyoa will be! I've had a couple suggestions from patrons as well as ideas of my own, so we might have a couple votes to narrow down the concept and get to what we want.
Either way, I want to give you all a huge, huge thanks for supporting me so far. And stay tuned for some mindflayer fun!

It's for sure the biggest weakness of these books. The limitations are annoying, but I don't have the programming skills or knowledge to branch out like that. Maybe some day I'll do a kickstarter or something to hire someone to build a game engine I can add to.

2023-05-17 17:22:11 +0000 UTCThe way Treasure of the serpent queen is going, it really feels like it would gain more from an actual CYOA program than previous stories. (Especially because of the two different ways to get past the Lamia Harem Mistress, and how that would interact with the possibility of going after Bovara. For example, I’d think that the ‘returning the jar’ would result in an angry queen, should a detour to rescue Bovara be done (and there‘s no reason why he would not hear her in that route) - rather than have to have two versions, creating a risk of mixing them up/linking wrong, a variable would remember which method. I don’t know how much CYOA programs are like regular programming; I’m basing my idea off of what i remember from my high school C++ programming, which was back in 2014)
