A quick addendum on my dog, Sammy. We got back from the vet today, and despite his general demeanor improving over the past couple of days, his blood work shows that he is still getting worse. We're changing up his treatment, but it seems likely that even in the best case scenario, he'll need to stay medicated for the rest of his life. And the rest of his life may not be that long. For the most part he seems happy right now compared to the lethargy a week ago, so I'm hoping and holding on to these moments for as long as I can see that tail wag.
