A government can be already thought of as a giant, highly inefficient, AI. You have essentially have a bunch of processors (government employees) processing code (statutes and rules) and, inputing and storing information and making decisions based on that "code." John Von Neuman called this a computer, and you can make its digital equivalent just by modeing it in software. So imagine, the CCP can essentially create a digital model of itself now. There isn't much more that needs to be done.

2018-04-19 20:52:57 +0000 UTCThere's only one terrifying thing here: The fact that to this day, people still believe a 64bit processor running C++ code is capable of anything even resembling human intelligence, and literally think that intelligent little people can emerge on their laptops in the Windows system tray. AI will only be possible decades from now, after biological research manages to decipher and reverse-engineer the entire human brain down to the smallest detail, then create a similar physical net of neurons (accounting for action potentials, quantum processing, etc)... it will have nothing to do with existing computers whatsoever, which use 0's and 1's and are architecturally incompatible. No binary computer will ever be capable of recognizing a face, nor the meanings of objects, nor circumstance... especially from a lousy image made out of 2D pixels only. There is no possible mathematical formula that could ever understand what faces are, work around different lighting conditions, the different angles and parts of a face being covered, different image compression, and so much more... it's just code, it cannot work with and comprehend intelligent complexity. The delusions those people live in should horrify anyone who's still in touch with reality: We not only have politicians talking about AI as if it's actually a thing, but investors throwing in billions of dollars and making a mockery of their own fortunes... all while technically apt people stay silent and won't expose this hoax already! Someone even wasted time on animating false demos of drawing lines and squares over peoples faces then claiming it's a "sentient computer", just to justify their fantasy about turning their smartphones into living beings. Those people literally cannot separate Star Wars from how real life works, something for which you'd get a recommendation to see a psychiatrist in the old days.
