I have been WAITING to get into Skool Luv Affair for a hot while but with the holidays, we got a lil back tracked, oops!
I'm super glad to have found time to listen to it in it's entirety because it was STRAIGHT FIRE and also slightly unexpected!! I was not ready for the boys to be schooling kids on how to be respectful of their parents as well as talk about their romantic interests HAHA it was a 10/10.
The cypher too?! SHEEEEESH!!
I can't wait to do more album reactions because they give me such a better insight on what the boys were feeling and going through during these eras and also to see how much their music has improved. I'm obsessed!!

It may not have sold as well but it's another really solid album! lol the very beginning of cypher 2 was supreme boi, not hobi, and the lyrics definitely got what he said wrong. He says 'supreme boi on this triptych', not 'track dick' 😂 A lot of lyrics vids get that wrong. the intro for this album is such an underrated rapline song!!! I think Spinebreaker might actually be my favorite bts song. It's just got such a cool groove. feels like it could be a Gorillaz song or something. Plus the live performance and bts's homemade music video for it are so fun.

Outro Propose for whatever reason always reminds me of Red Bullet tour, no fancy sets, no fireworks, no army bombs, just vocal line in their cute white shirts and ties and sneakers 🥺 I would love to see D-Day plus the concert like others have suggested!! It’s truly a life-changing show

2025-01-16 04:23:17 +0000 UTCI’m praying she sees this comment and the comments I made on this post too where I have such detailed comments explaining way she should react to the albums in the correct order 🤞🏾 because I know if she puts these options on a poll RPWP or D-Day will win, because everyone is excited for her to listen to those amazing bodies of work, without realising she doesn’t have the context that we do of hearing the other albums first! There’s no right way to react to things but there is always a better way, and that way should be the way the boys intended for listeners to listen to it - which is in order. D-Day is a part of a 3 part story arc and trilogy, she needs to start with part 1 and part 2. And I can’t imagine listening to RPWP without understanding Joons mindset from Indigo with tracks like lonely & hectic especially to understand the alternative genre that he went for in RPWP 😭😭😭

BTS were so young and with a few budget but really came with a bunch of bops since day 1, it's really crazy! and not only that, they participated a lot in the writing, composing and producing process + they also touch some interesting and unique topics. I love it! Peachy before you react to the other albums idk if you knew this but they have the Skool Luv Affair Special Addition. A repackage album and the only 2 new songs are 'Miss Right' and 'Like (Slow Jam Remix)'.

The part where Yoongi says take a vacation/ go to Hawaii (paraphrasing) is directed to BFree who was one of those on that much hated vid where they were making fun of RM and Yoongi for their names and wearing makeup. Jhope was basically setting the song bringing them in for their part. SpineBreaker has an MV they made in half a day or so as a challenge or something... so there is a making of and official MV. It is so hilarious! You're going to love it! Can't wait for Dark and Wild. It's crazy it did not do well, cause it's one of my fav albums! So many good songs in there!!

It's I Need You (slow jam), Tomorrow and War of Hormone live performance on a roof top to a small group of ARMYs. The vocals are SOOO good especially for Tomorrow, they are a lot younger but still so amazing back then.. hope you get to watch it!!

Please please please do not react to RMs Right Place Wrong Person album before listening to the album Indigo. You’ll understand his stylistic choices soooo much better if you listen to Indigo first. Plus you’ve already listened to Mono, makes sense to do Indigo next. And please please do not react to Agust Ds’ D-Day without listening to his first 2 mixtapes ‘Agust D’ & ‘D-2’ in chronological order first, just as he had his music video trilogy in a specific order, it’s so essential to listen to the albums in order too, to see his growth and how his mindset changes but how his core values stay the same. From the beginning Yoongi has said that the 3 albums are a trilogy, they tell a whole story, for example ‘So far away’ from the first album is featured in ‘Snooze’ from D-Day, ‘People’ from the second album links to ‘People pt 2’ in the D-Day album etc. Even to understand why the album and title track are called D-Day, means you need to understand him and his point of view from the previous albums. Always remember these men value their music a lot and are very intentional and specific with what they do and their releases so doing things chronologically makes more sense. I can see some people have voted for D-Day and Yoongi is my Ult Bias and D-Day is my favourite album so I understand the want for you to hear it, but I just think it’s such an injustice to him to listen to it out of order before the other 2, instead of the way he intended his music to be consumed. The music of Agust D is a trilogy and story arc, let’s start at the beginning 💜💜💜

2025-01-15 08:04:33 +0000 UTCThe Rap Jungkook did was RM’s part of Ddaeng not Sugas part in the Cypher. Ddaeng is a Rapline song but vocal line did a cover of it for a Muster concert! Ddaeng is a fan favourite rap line song and it’s sadly not on streaming platforms as it was a free song posted to soundcloud released for FESTA. When you eventually react to that, it’ll have to be a 4 parter as you’ll have to react to 1. Original song with coloured lyrics and Doolset 2. The explanation video because it has a lot of wordplay and you’ll need the Korean context 3. The rap line live performance 4. The vocal line performance 💜

Also it’s really cool to look at the credits at the top where it will tell you who wrote and produced it, the rap lines pen game is always chiefs kiss! Tomorrow is probably in my top 5 fav BTS songs, Yoongi produced it and it goes crazy, another Yoongi produced masterpiece is Autumn Leaves/Dead Leaves and it’s my number 1 fav, the vocal line goes crazy on that, can’t wait for you to find more amazing songs with each album 💜 Also Appa = Dad Oppa, as you read is what a girl calls an older man that she is close to. There are honorifics for everyone depending on gender, age, relation and seniority. You’ll often see/hear ARMY also call BTS Oppa where appropriate too. There’s been cases where ARMY have called them Oppa and they’ve raised an eyebrow or questioned it because the girl looks older than them etc which is always funny. But when Oppa is used correctly, they enjoy it because it’s only used when you’re close to someone so it shows that BTS and ARMY are close. Same with Noona which is what you are to JK because you are older but Jin would be your Oppa 💜 Also in the future it’ll be good to react to Boracity videos, she provides a lot of information on BTS and their history pre debut and post debut, BIGHIT, Hybe and the Kpop industry etc. And those videos would be able to help you understand some questions you have. Remember, BTS was made to be a hiphop rap focused group with RM as the main guy, the group was formed around him and the sound/genre Hitman Bang intended to make. The shift in music happens after dark & wild, when you enter The most beautiful moment era. Also in the beginning Jin and Jimin were still seen as the weaker vocalists (sadly 😢) Jin had no prior singing experience and Jimin was going through it and nearly didn’t make it into BTS. These 3 albums were all recorded and released around the same time, which reflects there lack of vocals on the songs. It gets better from here on out though! Promise 💜
