3D Art - Queen v1.0 + Scenes

Creating 3D art (specially characters) has always been one of my lifelong dreams since I was a  child. November was a bad month for me and I really needed to get things off my mind, so I started to check 3D modeling tutorials and fiddle with Blender for the first time in my life, between short work breaks.

One month later, these are the results of my "training", including my first 3D model and some experiments with dramatic lightning :D. She looks a bit off in certain areas, but fixing this model will be part of the fun. I still have so much to learn!

I hope you like it! I have more models in the works... and one of them is hidden in one of these scenes :P

You're welcome! I'm glad to be of help ^^

Shrapnull

Thank you so much for the constructive criticism and your suggestions, Shrapnull! I agree with you, I should use ref sheets, pictures or some kind of reference to make the overall anatomy more accurate. Also, her head definitely needs a rework, specially the eyes and mouth area. I'm taking note of everything and making sure the next update of this model looks much better, while I also work on other models :) I still have plenty of things to learn when it comes to 3D art and I'm really enjoying the whole process. Tweaking and fixing things is part of the experience! Also, you found the bunny :3

Xpray

Definitely! Aurenn and Vodka are in my "to do" list :)

Xpray

Thanks!

Thank you, James! So many possibilities :D. I'll render fight scenes in the future, for sure!

Xpray

Thanks. I'm pretty sure the eyes are making it look a bit weird, specially because how they're placed. I'll make sure to fix that (and other things) in the next version.

Xpray

Oh no worries, I completely understand and I appreciate the constructive criticism! It helps me to improve. Now I see all those mistakes and I'm already working hard to fix them, while I also use that knowledge on my next models (I have 5 of them in the works right now). Learning something like this from zero is proving to be a really fun and satisfying experience :)

Xpray

I'm fixing that! It's part of the learning process. And making figurines of my characters would be like another dream coming true, although I still have zero idea about 3D printing haha. PS: You found her :>

Xpray

Thank you! I completely agree with you, she's too skinny and I'm already working on an updated version :)

Here they are: https://pastebin.com/wxqHc49T If you feel like I'm being unfair please let me know All in all though again you've learnt a lot in a short amount of time! Thank you for sharing it with us ^^. I look forward to you being able to realise Xprayland in full 3d <3

Shrapnull

This is very good work for a month of progress, you learn fast! I'd like to write up some thoughts and send you them tomorrow. Also I think I see a rabbit ^^

Shrapnull

Great job! We are waiting for the rest of the models :) especially we are waiting for Auren and Vodka

Roman Solncev

Nice work.

Shadow

For something you did in a month and it’s your first one it’s pretty impressive:) really see potential here. Ooooo maybe you can do an epic battle scene with the queen flying and a couple of her sons engaging in a fight with vodka and Bukka on a destroyed building. Like Bukka has twin pistols and Vodka an m60 : D! Haha can’t wait to see more 3D stuff my guy is always great to follow your dreams ^^

James Reese

i dont know what detail in particular but her head looks kinda wrong. the rest is great.

natreom

Don't mistake my intention, this is still a fantastic first model to debut! I look forward to seeing more

I think that you are getting mostly the same thing from others that your 2D rendering of her tends to give a fuller figure to her, both body and face, at least from the angles we see her from and any potential stylized perspective. The thing we as an audience needs to keep in mind as well is that this very well could be more what you picture the character to truly look like objectively, where half the fun of a comic is using the freedom from static proportions to do cool and interesting things that may fudge character proportions for a particular angle to make it "work," or just more interesting

Fen Longpaw

The only thing somewhat off-model comparaed to her 2D design is that she seems a bit.... Flat... Compared to her usual size...? And maybe her eyes seem a bit off... But considering you only started doing this a month back that is rapid progress! Congrats! It's always fun discovering something new creatively. Also, you so have to make this a purchasable figurine! P.S.: I see green hair and bunny ears....

Julian Hartmann

not bad work so far, but honest, I feel she's too skinny. I guess the transition from your art style in 2D is not the easiest thing to do into 3D yet.

Fleur Dryke

Crazy that Blender is free too, envisioned as a tool for those to express themselves Congrats on that accomplishment/achievement
