BONUS STRIP DECEMBER 2014 THE SECOND

Comments

It wasn't technically the theme song, for all they kept on reusing the leitmotif throughout the series.

George Simpson

This was great, except for the lack of self confidence of course

Meagan Fischer

Transcript Panel one Dorothy: (singing) And here's more of the elements to help us take over the world. (speaking) I know this, I'm a robot. Shut up, monkey. Panel two Dorothy: (singing) Tungsten and rhenium, osmium, iridium, platinum, records of the grateful dead/Then gold and mercury, the latter is murdery, then we got thallium and lead Panel three: Dorothy (singing): Bismuth, polonium, astatine, radon, you check for that in your homes/Francium, radium, actinides-- Panel five Dorothy (singing): So it's gonna be forever, or it's gonna go down in flames/You can tell me when it's over if the high was worth the pain

Panel One: Awwww, she's singing the Dexter theme song! That is so cute and so Dorothy. I imagine she's got a lot of cartoon music - or at least lots of Dexter music, along with her classical brain music type junk. Panel Two: Oh my. So the Dexter theme song involves listing the elements? All of them? My goodness. That must have helped out in chemistry if nothing else. I bet science teachers recommend it as a study aid. Just play it on loop until you remember it. Must've helped for Dorothy if nothing else. Panel Three: Neat song! I like how it seems to go by category! It's cute. Panel Four: Aaaaaand here's where it gets awkward. Dorothy puts a lot of effort in not being seen as geeky because that's childish. It's okay with her friends, but not presidential for anyone else. Even if everyone else doesn't care. Panel Five: And cue the awkward switch to catchy at the moment pop song! I do like this one, but still, Dorothy, be yourself. I notice the other girl seems to have noticed the awkward switch more than anything else. And Dorothy seems so embarrassed. Poor boo boo. Let her sing her cute theme song!

Happy Dorothy is adorable Dorothy. Also, I'm a patron now. Yey!

Or "some STADIUM-sized power plants keep those in concrete DOMES!" Yeah, that'd be better.

T Campbell

"...a STADIUM-sized power plant keeps those in concrete DOMES!" Best I can do anyway.

T Campbell

Dorothy jogging makes me unreasonably happy :-)

Kelly Clowers

Makes me really glad I am not 18, or anywhere near it. Of course when I *was* 18, I wasn't listening to whatever the equivalent of Taylor Swift was... I was listing to music that was more like 2 decades+ old already...

Kelly Clowers

Some of my friends are huge music nerds and they all seem to collectively be agreed that Taylor Swift's new album is excellent. I haven't listened to it, so I have no opinion,.

Amanda

Obviously not as far as Dorothy is concerned.

Populuxe

*Way* more embarrassing to listen to Taylor Swift.

Kelly Clowers

dang, I'm tempted to make a Vocaloid version of this, but that feels unfair to Patrons to make it public

Minzoku Bokumetsu

Thanks, I had no idea. I guess the question is, is it more embarrassing to listen to cartoon songs or Taylor Swift?

David Herbert

"Blank Space" has been stuck in my head all weekend. I had just finally gotten it out of my skull while driving home from work, and then decided to check Patreon. Seeing that there was a bonus strip, I (most obviously) clicked on it, only to read it and have my brain return to the musical rut it was in before. DAMN YOU WILLIS!

D.K.

*checks lyrics* Taylor Swift? Really Dorothy?

Antonio E Gonzalez

on the other hand... yay elements!

kation

"astatine" is missing a t... but then again this is a bonus bonus strip so i guess it doesn't really matter

kation

It reminds me of a lot of the Animaniacs songs, so try it to one of those.

Brian Scott

What's the tune to the song?

Avidan

If you wanna see it at usual website size, there's a blue icon to the bottom right of the graphic. Click it! (Thanks Dan Shive)
