I was in love with this version of the strip. Everyone got a part of the last panel, and multiple times, and there was a rhythm to everything, and it mentioned stuff that'd developed since the strip started, so it kind of felt like a worthy anniversary strip.
BUT just one problem: Danny doesn't have to ask Joyce if she's lusted after a Jewish boy. That Joyce dated Ethan is literally the only thing Danny knows about her. This throws a wrench in everything.

So I tried to write around it. Danny tries to carry the bulk of the last panel's dot-connecting himself. Plothole's gone, but it's clunky. It loses the one-two-three of word balloons across the bottom, which I loved. And Danny's singular carrying of the dot-connecting makes it feel like a wordy stretch.
I sigh. I sit on it for a while. Maybe a day? I forget.

i go in a completely different direction, leaning on the "consequences" portion of the strip rather than the "make parents mad" portion of the strip
danny danned up my anniversary strip *shakes fist*
