no easy way to say, "TV consumed the souls of an entire generation, and our family isn't immune," is there?

And Carol...she's harmful. She's nice when she feels it is morally right, and not nice when she judges someone to be morally wrong, with no weight given to harm done. She isn't particularly kind, and she isn't safe. I dunno, I find it easier to find the space between "I love this person" and "This person isn't good for me or for the other people around me" when I look at their actions and intentions, instead of judging their "goodness."

No person is all good or all bad. Most people are not so good or so bad as to qualify as a good or bad person. Me, I prefer to weigh if that person is harmful, or safe, or kind, etc, rather than good or bad. Still not a perfect measurement, but more useful.
