2019-06-20 07:08:39 +0000 UTCIt feels a little odd to come out with this on the same day as we discuss a webcomic author gone TERF. But what with recent events, including a brush with life-threatening illness last year, I have at long last admitted to myself that I am nonbinary. I have been so closeted to even myself that in the word of Mr. Willis himself, "I might as well have been living in Narnia." I see a poignant irony in the fact that when I came out to one of my closest friends afterwards, their reaction was "Well, DUH." Internalised transphobia is not to be underestimated, it seems. *wry smile* But the fact is, much of the time I identify more as female than as male. I am still more comfortable with my birth name and so far I have felt no urge to meddle with my pronouns (I also respond to 'hey you' and 'silly', the latter often applied to me by my wife), but here I am. A work in progress, as it were.
