The one thing that's completely clear about Jacob's relationship with his brother is that he thinks his brother hung the moon. Plus, even as he's committing to a lie in some already-desperate attempt to retain Harrison's respect, part of his brain is anxiously reassessing his relationship with Raidah, a law student. He is way too anxious about his own flaws, real or imagined, for today to be the day he starts admitting that Harrison has any. (I mean, unless Harrison pulls out a MAGA hat or openly mocks trauma survivors or something, then all bets are obviously off.)
