I grew up in a planned neighborhood on top of a hill on the outskirts of a suburban town near Seattle in the 60s/70s. We got a little shopping center and the anchor store was a Piggly Wiggly. The neighborhoods had these fancy names (Forest Ridge, Forest Knoll, Forest Villa) but the whole area became known as Pig Hill. Even though Piggly Wiggly left the market in the mid-80s (the store became a Hogan’s Market, then a QFC, then it was abandoned, and now it’s all been torn down), after 35 years, people still refer to the area as Pig Hill. I’m guessing most people don’t even know why anymore.

The Piggly-Wiggly is, of course, a witch who curses disobedient children with ironic punishments until they learn manners.
