2022-12-13 05:11:55 +0000 UTCJoe looks pretty happy with his move. Enlisting Joyce to rebut Dorothy has its problems, but *not* correcting Dorothy's take on the situation also has its problems. Joyce and Joe look pretty sure they're in the right relative stance. Joyce's folded arms could be telling Dorothy to deal with it. There is a historic echo of Joyce with a tall Jewish guy putting his arm around her. But in that case Joyce herself put the arm there—Ethan wasn't going to on his own. I like the way panel 3 has Joe's arm in mid-motion as Joyce slides in next to him.

2022-12-13 05:10:47 +0000 UTCman i really feel for dorothy here, bc how do you tell your close friend that you literally look after and try so hard to protect after theyve been thru hell and back that you dont trust the guy they like without taking away your friend’s agency… ive been in her shoes before and its hard to be protective but respect boundaries bc when the inevitable hurt comes it drives you crazy knowing that you could have theoretically stopped all that from happening. at the end of the day, she’ll learn that all you can really do is just be there for your friends to catch them if they fall 😔
