From a guy in the American SE the religious indoctrination can be so tied into the cultural indoctrination that it takes a lot to just *realize* that it’s there. And I wasn’t even in a far out hyper religious church.

So, previously, I was gonna bring up how this oft-referred to dryer method, while certainly useful and stimulating, is not enough on its own for most attempters to reach a satisfying conclusion with. (Most!!) I'm glad that's kinda getting addressed.

Don't kill the vibe, Dorothy. She wants you more next to her.

Regardless of her possible bisexuality, Joyce is really repressed sexually, even after abandoning the religious indoctrination of her family, and I feel like she might need therapy to truly get to the heart of why.

Ah, the arbitrary rules come out. Doesn't count... but who's counting?

Uniquitous

She's just waiting for the spin cycle (yes I know that's for washing machines, not dryers but the joke doesn't work otherwise)

Guy Serle

Dorothy has noticed uncomfortable parallels between her fantasy of Duke from Doonesbury and the reality of Joe, and is attempting not to consider them

Read your book, Dorothy

Bagge

You know what? This is boring.

Olivia Cheatham

carpet burn in this case, surely

Seth Aaron Hershman has they she pronouns

Joyce, that sounds like a good way to get rug burn

A lot of teaching is like that.

Joyce is the focus in the alternating borderless panels, and she remains intent on her reading material throughout. Dorothy moves her eyes around, from her book to checking Joyce's expression to the up-and-left thinking position. The situation is washing away Joyce's denial layer by layer. The whole situation is "on purpose" and "counts"—that's the point—so Joyce has surfaced the contradiction of not wanting to delay her climax and wanting to placate her reflexive shame. There's an applicable proverb concerning the possession versus the ingestion of cake.

Dan Rabin

Dorothy doesn’t really seem to be teaching much, just kind of encouraging and providing moral support. Joyce clearly already knew how to look up arousing stuff on her phone, and the dryer plan doesn’t seem to be doing much for her.
