I love Ruth, too. Thing is, I am having trouble calling her my favourite simply because there are so many good candidates. Dina comes close but it is SO hard for me to choose just one.

My girlfriend read it over my shoulder and said the exact same thing haha

MrShoggoth

Ruth's face (and more specifically, the emotion behind it) in the first panel is why she remains my favourite character.

It's Lina

Possibly not Robin, mind you. o.O

This whole situation is good! To be be POTUS (or lots of other things), it's a good instinct and skill to consult advisors who can provide insight and life experience. As a Resident Advisor, it's literally in Ruth's job title. Only other thing I can think of is if Dorothy talked to some professor mentor types.

Awww :(

Onyx

Oh, I feel this. Can't wait till tomorrow!

Does Amber even interact with Ruth?

Andrea Andrew

<3 <3 <3 I love how good Ruth is a this

Bagge

Aw, sweetie. :(

Cut to the morning after...

Ruth constantly refuses to acknowledge that she can be good at her job, both because Ruth and because she's so rarely called upon to do the tough stuff like this. Dorothy seems more willing to listen than Amber's been in similar discussions with Ruth (for one thing, Dorothy came to Ruth herself, which Amber would never do), and hopefully this will continue to be a productive conversation.

Harold

Really nice analysis. Thank you.

Simon Magid

I got briefly confused by the patch of ceiling above Ruth in the first panel because I thought it was a speech balloon without words in it.

Simon Magid

In the first two panels, Ruth's body language is thoughtful, then warm and engaged with Dorothy, inclining her head and moving her hands apart. As Ruth characterizes the problem, Dorothy stops meeting her eyes, showing that Ruth's analysis is hitting home. The strip starts and ends with wordless panels, and alternates speakers in between, with Dorothy offering only "yeah". Dorothy, of course, gets the borderless panels: this is about her.
