In this case, she decided that selling the house is pious and a big gesture to get into gods good graces, so she decides that God must have told her to do it. She doesn't have to justify it anymore, she's passed the buck skyward

When my grandfather started talking to his Dad about taking over the farm when he was older my great-grandfather asked him where he was going to get the money to buy it. Don't see why that wouldn't apply here.
