they always dreamed of a boyfriend with a hat
I dunno, man, I think their mutual feelings are too strong for that.
I think it’s a lot more likely that one or both of them gets real mad at Charles and Linda’s bullshit, and Danny’s either there to comfort Sal or is like “BY THE WAY I’M A BISEXUAL FAILURE CHILD SO SUCK ON THAT YOU WASP WANNABES”

It's not the responsibility of kids to fix their parents. They're kids. They don't have the experience, perspective, or rhetorical/emotional skills to budge a coupla 50-somethings who've been set in their ways for two decades, and moreover, they shouldn't have to. It's the responsibility of parents to listen to their kids when they talk, respect them as people, and take their wants and needs into account. Linda has not done this for either of them that we've seen in any way that matters. Interacting with them regularly and paying for things they can't is the bare minimum.
Moreover, Sal and Walky get to decide how they feel about their parents. Maybe they don't want to have a long, arduous conversation with their mom about her antiblack tendencies and favoritism. Maybe they're exhausted from eighteen years of emotional mistreatment. They're entitled to that.
There might be ways to mend this relationship. But if Linda wants a positive relationship with her kids, it's her responsibility to notice and take accountability for her behavior, not anyone else's.

Sal’s parents have flaws, but I’m not ready to cast them as demons incarnate yet. They’re making some effort to connect with their kids while visiting and presumably helping with college expenses on some level. Not Parent of the Year, but something.
Booing at the screen, shaking fists (and pitchforks and torches) is all in good fun, but more useful than that would be strategies that have a chance to succeed and improve their situation. I think calmly pointing out harmful expectations when they happen and having a conversation about “You know the David favoritism really hurt all those years” and an apology could help.

Oh no Sal
I don't think this is going to end up horrible though. I think Sal is going to be sure that she doesn't want to be that person and will cuss them out, and Danny is going to stand up for her. I think that it will end with the relationship completely severed, Sal both crushed and releved to finally be sure, and Danny glad he's still alive and still standing up for Sal.

Worst case, Linda and Charles like Danny, Sal decides she doesn't like that, and she dumps Danny to give a middle finger to her parents.
