In short *ahem* FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT

Lucy, as a person who's not friends with Sarah, came up and criticized the way Sarah treats her friends - who are also not Lucy's friends (she hangs around but they're not FRIENDS-friends) - as a person who has no deeper insight to their personal dynamics, and we should not be surprised she got put in her place. - And yes, Lucy's been nice to everyone, but being nice doesn't mean people want to be your friend, and just like dating no one NEEDS to be your friend. We all deserve friendship but no person owes it to us. And we've never seen Lucy reach out to anyone individually in this little gang except way back asking Joyce to church, and Joyce is (consciously or not) avoiding Lucy because of that. -- I definitely sympathize with Lucy a lot because who hasn't been there, you try to join a friend group and can't seem to break through for a thousand reasons. But it is true that Lucy's only started hanging out with them because she started crushing on Walky, and if she broke up with Walky she'd probably stop talking to most them. I think Becky's the only person in their group she really talks to and that's only because they attend church together.

Also pure number of comics helps Sarah's point, meta narratively not in universe obviously. Lucy has been in 202 stips as of this one, if you search the tags with adding Walky she has been in 146. Having only 56 comics without being with Walky. Though even more pertinent I believe is post-time skip appearances with which Lucy has become a more involved character. Of which Lucy has 135, 117 of which are with Walky so 18 comics without him. which approximately half of those seem to be her talking to other people about Walky

I'm on team Sarah is an asshole but she's right. The comment about her relationship was maybe too far but also what did Lucy expect? She heard second hand gossip about Sarah and went straight to her and threw it in her face. Why is it so surprising that Sarah would bite back? I like Lucy but rn she seems to get attached to people too quickly and expects them to reciprocate without understanding close relationships take time and effort to build. She hasn't made the effort, she has no rapport with Sarah and she's spent what, like an hour with Raidah? She has no business bringing this up at all.

I've been thinking about these two a lot since the last argument, Lucy feels like a perfect foil to Sarah. Lucy seems to confuse being popular with what she really wants, which is to be valued as a friend. It's not really asking for much but those two things are the same thing. It's a shame because Lucy tries her hardest to be nice to come off as friend material. Sarah on the other hand, yeah it's true she has a serious mean streak in her many of times and she's not desperate to be everyones friend, which is why she doesn't care if not everyone finds her anti-social tendencies appealing. But at the same though when she does find what she believes to be a genuine friend, she won't be in a rush pushed them away despite what past acquaintances say about her. Seeing this situation I can see why these two are clashing. On one hand all Sarah needs to do dial back the mean remarks with certain friends joking or not, since not everyone would have the same tolerance for it. On the other hand, as much effort Lucy puts into being friendly she has to do more here. The best thing to do was to With hold judgment until she gets both sides of the story then compare and contrast to see who's more valid. A genuine friend would have done that much. Though after this, I don't know how much effort these two will want o make for each other as friends...but maybe they should try since I think they can anker each other in a way.

Different strokes for different folks. It's really a cultural thing across the US and the world, what kinds of ribbing and how much of it are central to a friend group. 18-year olds tend not to understand this, giving too much value to their personal experiences when it comes to others. Anyhow I don't think Sarah and Lucy are going to see eye-to-eye on this. I've been friends with both Sarahs and Lucys and I valued their friendships equally for what they brought.

Gonna call this off base but Lucy is proto Joyce at the moment so Sarah is recognizing patterns off that.

Sarah REALLY feels threatened by Alpha Sweetie Lucy. WIll I need to coin yet another position? Alpha Meanie?

Can't say Sarah isnt saying something some of us...okay, I haven't already been thinking. Its fun reading the comments and seeing what complete strangers would think of me for that. But then, I have never been a fan of Lucy so maybe thats where we differ.

I get that Sarah is probably real sick of people bringing up what is arguably one of the worst, most painful parts of her life, often out of nowhere, and the extra salt in the wound is now she’s being made out as the supervillain of that story in certain circles. My mom had a dog she took around the world. They loved each other. Once the dog got hurt, and was so scared and hurt she lashed out at my mom and bit her hand as my mom tried to help. This kinda seems like that. Humans lash out if they’re hurt or scared enough. To make matters worse, this is doing nothing to defuse Raidah’s poisoned backbiting. If anything, Sarah is spraying gasoline one what was until now a small spark (in Lucy’s mind). Sarah’s a little accurate in that Walky and Lucy are only three dates in, Lucy sees a lot more love there than Walky does at the moment, and they do want to bone down. But that doesn’t discount the likelihood that they have genuine affection for each other and potential real compatibility, which Sarah isn’t currently picking up on in her hurt state. It’s hard to be compassionate when hurt, but if Sarah could learn it she’ll be in a better state to defuse things like this. It’s even suckier, but Sarah might benefit from developing a “PR message” about her side of how the whole Dana thing went down and spread it around. Goodness knows Raidah has a (hostile) message she broadcasts to anyone will listen on that matter. Defusing situations and broadcasting PR messages are both lawyer skills.

She also tried to get help from other people who didn't do anything prior to that.

I'll get some heat for this but whatever, Sarah only dropped her roommate after her grades started to be affected. Which is fair, it was her stuff being messed with at that point. But she DID drop the roomie when it became inconvenient.
