A lot of mine were 'show up, take notes, take test in a few months.' Hell, my MATH class didn't even do graded assignments. We got pages assigned for our own practice, and it was never graded or even looked at. (Also, it was only the one math class he was failing, wasn't it? One failed class won't necessarily even land you on academic probation if your other class grades are good. You can retake a class. Chill the fuck out, Linda)

Anyway I feel like the issue with Linda is that there's a good chance that her affection for her kids might be conditional. The minute they're not meeting a certain standard or filling a role she set for them she switches up. Walky didn't really fail, the methods of which he pulled it off is irrelevant the point is he faltered for what is like the first time in his education and that's what got her heated.

On second reading I'm imagining her delivery in that panel being just as convincing as that time Dina said, "Oh no. It is Ruthless. I am frightened."
