(Also Christianity as a whole but that's besides the point). *I'm assuming that Joe is also raised reform and more culturally Jewish. I get that vibe from him.

Which is watching Christian media for clowning purposes with her boyfriend. Dorothy isn't her priority, but a friend, thats what the 4th panel really conveys. I saw a video of that kind that described everything about pregnancy EXCEPT THE SEX PART. It basically told the viewers that children came directly from God and gave young girls the impression that they might become pregnant just from sitting on a sofa next to a guy if God wanted them to have his child. And learned from friends that they knew women who had childhood trauma from this.)
