The lil sister Sarah never had 😌

Jey Siksa

M...mommy?...... Sorry

Jey Siksa

I think the one she's talking about murdering is Joe, not Joyce.

Rob McBobson

That final Sarah line reads more “murdered for breaking Joyce’s heart” than “murdered for seducing Joyce,” she’s already accepted and looking towards the end of the relationship and what she’ll have to do when Joe ends it, which she assumes is the only way it’ll end.

Peter Kempson

HOT DAMN! Joyce's "I fucking dare you" face is truly....I'm struggling to think of a word that means awe-inspiring and hot in the same go, but you get my point.

Beck(y) Chonigman

joe boutta catch the Frank Horrigan speech: "You've gotten a lot farther than you should have, but then you haven't met Sarah Clinton either. Your ride's over, Joe. Time to die."

I’m reimagining that scene in Red Dragon “… before me you will rightly tremble!”

Joe post-timeskip has soooo many parallels to pre-timeskip Joyce. He's changed to become a better person after seeing the error of his ways, but nobody else believes he's actually different. But Joyce knows what it's like to be pigeonholed like that. Explaining to Sarah that Joe actually isn't expecting anything is just rehashing arguments Joyce has already had, but this tact forces Sarah to remember that Joyce has, in fact, changed, and that people ARE capable of change. It is less farfetched for Horndog Joe to act altruistically than it is for Fundie Joyce to say she wants to kiss a man

Joe you better not hurt Joyce. Sarah Will show no mercy if you do

I will walk through the pearl gates of heaven, stand in front of God. With eyes full of fury, and tell them "I want to bite his butt"

Jey Siksa

Just as long as a nervous Joe doesn't inadvertently reveal what happened/almost happened with Liz...

Harold

I actually read the last three panels as Sarah giving her blessing. First she's surprised, then Joyce intensifies her glare, then Sarah makes a remark that portrays herself as bearing guilt. Once all three are talking it shouldn't be hard to sort out that the Joe Sarah hates just isn't there anymore, and that warning Joyce off isn't appropriate. Dorothy can be a reference, if necessary.

Dan Rabin

At first I thought Joyce was falling for Sarah's trap here, answering as if it was actually quid-pro-quo. But then I realized her tone and facial expression and even word choice are challenging Sarah's assumptions. It shows how confident she is in her nonverbal communication that she's comfortable making her point in this way, saying "I know you think he wants something from me, but I'm going to kiss him because I want to" without having to say so in words. It's increasingly clear that the hardest part of dating Joe is going to be convincing the people around her that he's dating her for the right reasons. Joyce seems to be up to the challenge. Good for her.

Lisa

Yeaaaaaahhhh, the cranky older sister is gonna be the one who has the hardest time with Joe's development. Development that may be fine for other people is in no way enough for her baby sister

BBCC

Sarah is lucky to have found her purpose in life so young.
