2024-04-08 04:36:53 +0000 UTCThe billboard gets the borderless panel, and the next panel has the billboard's-eye view of Joyce and Dorothy, with Joyce looking up at the Christian message. Some threads that I can see: 1. Dorothy is quite aware of her urge to protect Joyce, and automatically invokes mac and cheese as the symbol of comfort and safety for Joyce. 2. Joyce knew that Dorothy's need to protect her would get her to come along. 3. Joyce is determined to transgress actual laws, not just restrictions from her upbringing. Does she actually want the ethanol? 4. In the last two panels, Dorothy at least helps Joyce stick to the plan, even if Dorothy disapproves of the plan. 5. Dorothy actually took Jason's book with her. No, I have no prediction of what's going to happen. It's probably not going to be unproblematic admission to the bar, followed by moderate drinking and a good chat between friends, but that *could* happen, right?
