The above strip was how it was originally gonna go! I just wanted Carla here to mirror the laundry bit again. And then my wife read this sequence and said WHOA, OKAY, they need to be shown putting on make-up. This is an important component of this, she said. And I was like, okay, uh.

does joyce even have that skillset, how does that--

OH OKAY, I'll just... ADD MORE CARLA, and I rewrote the last panel (preserving the "You've GOT to know" bit because I loved that face on Dorothy) into Carla scooting them away to put proper make-up on them herself. Carla knows.

She also was critical of Joyce keeping her glasses ("look i know you have a glasses thing but they've got to come off") and so from this point on, Joyce will be glasses-less and have darker make-up on. Which is contrary to the model sheet I drew for the sequence:

(Dorothy will also have darker make-up, but her eyes don't really accommodate eye-shadow, so we see that a lot less, and also I probably forgot it in a few panels where she's half-lidded and it'd work, and I'll probably fix those as they go along.)
