George RR Martin, the author, used to write for TV shows, like The Twilight Zone, but he felt it was restrictive, so he thought he'd write his own book series, and make the story as gigantic as he liked with many different characters, locations, and storylines. So he wrote 'A Song of Ice and Fire,' 'A Game of Thrones' is the name of the first of currently 7 novels, at least two more are planned in the future.

The guy pushing the kid off the tower at the beginning was having sex with his own sister, who was married to the king at the time. And i'm gonna stop there or i'll be typing forever. Also the books are better than the tv show
