@taekwondogirl: as someone who's recently had to start wearing glasses for everyday life... no, they didn't have to have been already off. But it's a lot less painful to have ones head face down in a pillow if one removes ones glasses first. It's also potentially less financially painful, as one can break glasses by not removing them before face planting, pillow or no.

Succeeding by failing is definitely better than failing by succeeding. I don't know how many times I've been blocked by accomplishing things by success errors, but it's not zero. Some of them have even been my code.

Some Ed

Well, she was a cheerleader after all.

Beck(y) Chonigman

Task failed successfully

Beck(y) Chonigman

That takes a lot of flexibility, it is kind of impressive.

William Tessmer

Dogs love schmaltz though.

William Burns

So... Joyce appreciates the J-Billie that always puts foot in mouth?

darklion

Don't you throw those for the dogs to play fetch with?

Grace Kieser

“Billie was always just a huge dumb-assed bongo, but in a lovable way.” “Yeah, uh, okay—“ “Like those videos of cats on the internet that just keep failing the same jump, or get stuck in a tiny box and roll around helplessly, meowing, that’s Billie, to me.” “Thanks. Great. Shut the fuck up.”

Sajuuk-Khar

I know. Thought I’d carry the schtick.

Andrea Andrew

I think that is joke

Brandon Booth

But most people agree with that statement.

Andrea Andrew

ohhhhhhhh

taekwondogirl

...She was laying face down into a pillow, her glasses had to have already been off.

taekwondogirl

Love that, in the spirit of calling Jennifer "Billie", Joyce has taken her glasses off for this convo. Levels the playing field a bit.

Seth Aaron Hershman has they she pronouns

Here's a hot take: Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse was a good film

Taffy

Wow, Joyce has got a lot more sharp wit than might be expected. Surprising. Billie succeeding by failing is entirely normal, however.

William Tessmer

Jennifer's advice in panel 2 wouldn't be half bad, if Joyce and Dina could be in the same space for an extended period (without Becky as a buffer) without one of them inevitably pushing the other's buttons. As has been pointed out, just because two people are both neurodivergent doesn't mean they'll bond. But it would be nice if it happened in this case.

Harold

Oh Billie. Feels like you're trying to convince yourself of that, really, which I guess is business as usual for her.

IAmDeltaS

So B-Jennifer's gone from describing neurodivergent people as "nerds" to calling them "weirdos," the latter directly to an actual probably-neurodivergent person. And yet, per Joyce, it did help, by being spectacularly non-helpful. She's King Midas In Reverse!

Harold

That's such a difference from everyone else in this social circle

Bagge

Bite me, Billie. Bite me.

Packy Anderson

Mmmm, "names weirdos made up for 'normals'". Way to help comfort someone worried about their mental health by discounting them in the same breath. That's some real Alpha Bongo work right there.
