Is that still a problem? It was a bit of a screw-up on his part, but he and Joyce hashed it out okay and came to some kind of resolution.

Roz is hardly the person to ask "How do I remain celibate?" or "How do I deal with going without sex for a week or two?", as Joe would recognise (her answers being "I don't" and "I'd have sex"), and for similar reasons, she may not have especially clear insights into Joyce's motivations and thinking. I guess that Joyce may have been nattering on about polyamory or something, in her just-learned-a-new-word kind of way, and Joe may regard Roz as the local expert on theories of sexual ethics (whereas he is a practical kind of guy on that subject). But anyhow, it seems that Joe has problems beyond simple frustration (which doesn't raise questions - you can either wait it out or you can't).
