I don't disagree but I still think it's a pretty funny thing to say given the goals Joyce is ostensibly trying to achieve. The rare gender-flipped version of "Is it gay for a man to be married to a woman?". Except here the answer is sort of "if that's how you go about it? yes".

Because either Joyce is still too screwed up to just go and fuck Joe, as she clearly wants to do, in which case she needs professional therapy, or she isn't, in which case there are many people and causes in the setting that could use Dorothy's time and help more than Joyce's vestigial neuroses. Dorothy could even help them with lists if she likes. Frankly, Joyce is looking like a bit of a narcissist at this point.
