Originally, Dina answered directly Joyce's misgendered outrage from the previous strip, aka "I can't believe you learned it first!!!!"
And it was fine! But then there's the autistic urge to over-explain, and so I took a second pass.
And that's indeed a lot of words! So much explaining. I should probably try to pare back the explaining.
Explaining partially abandoned... and also this strip, half-way through, before throwing up my hands. Look, when you have characters say "As you should very well know," that's a cue that we're saying things we already know. Sometimes necessary to respell things out for the audience, but...
No. I decided we deserved the Full Joyce:
There. Joyce voices her frustrations without anybody actually saying exactly word-for-word what they are, and also it's not seemingly solved in a conversation. Joyce still has those insecurities.
Gotta have some unresolved dramatic tension floating around. It can't all be instantaneous catharsis.
