2022-06-25 03:48:18 +0000 UTCThinking about TPM nowadays, I remember freaking out as a kid when I first saw that iconic teaser poster featuring Anakin and Darth Vader in the background and being awed by the Duel of the Fates lightsaber fight at the theater. Those were good times but yet again, I think it was a missed opportunity not to start with Anakin as a padawan or a Jedi Knight with Obi-Wan fighting in the Clone Wars. The TPM is what fans call 'Star Talks' for a reason due to the heavy dialogue and politics interwoven in the story and having Natalie Portman and Keira Knightley playing Queen Amadala/Padme in a dual role if you're watching closely with each scene. I don't fault Jake Lloyd for being a 9-year-old child actor, it's not his fault and George Lucas is arguably not good at directing his actors. I like TPM better than ATOC but for me, ROTS is George's best-directed film and is a fan favorite of the series.

2022-06-23 17:43:53 +0000 UTCI remember seeing TPM in theaters when I was in kidergarten, my cool uncle took me to go see it after he showed me the orignal trilogy on VHS (yes, those legendary theatrical releases VHS). I don't hate TPM and I've come to pity Jar Jar as a character over time though I completely understand why fans still hate him. Although I've never defended the prequels, I've never hated them except for ATOC, the worst Star Wars film that is surpassed by TLJ. Although I never agreed with George's vision for explaining the past in his trilogy, at least he had a plan.
