I currently make anywhere between $25 to $35 an hour (depending on which studio I'm working for) living in Los Angeles and even with saying that I still have to rent an apartment and I can't go crazy with my money. I couldn't even imagine making $15 an hour and thinking I can live in this city comfortably.

Yup I agree! Shit I make $18 and my wife who is a college graduate makes like $22hr and we still have to rent an apartment in the hood because we can't really afford to get something better at this moment. Not complaining because I'm blessed to have a roof over my head, but putting myself in somebody's shoes who makes $15hr, you have to really manage your money to get by lol.
