Sponge Bob is FULL of adult humor. It takes place in Bikini Bottom..hullo? I won’t list them here since a simple Internet search will give you plenty of references. Watching you get all excited about shows I know nothing about I thought you definitely had a world completely different than the children’s TV when I was knee high. The 60s was not nearly so sophisticated in theme or production. Nova looked great with that hair, and Lymp’s make up was perfect.

My favorite show as a kid was Freakazoid. It was a Steven Spielberg produced cartoon where a computer nerd gets downloaded into the internet and becomes a superhero. It had tons of pop culture references in it and the humor was fantastic

Yikes you've opened an can of worms. I was a child of the 90's and there were so many amazing shows that I loved. Beetle Borg's, Ahhh real monsters, Legend of the hidden temple, courage the cowardly dog, eerie Indiana, Beakman's world . Etc. I could go on but I won't ( you're welcome )
