Full Of It #226 - The Disappearance of Amy Lynn Bradley

In March of 1998, American woman Amy Lynn Bradley disappeared from the Rhapsody of the Seas ocean liner in the Caribbean Sea en route to Curaçao while on vacation with her family. Her story has similarities to that of Rebecca Coriam, who we discussed in FOI #104, but while hers had something of a dead end, Amy's vanishing ends in a bizarre human trafficking angle that's as frustrating as it scary.

Contains discussions about suicide.

Loved this pod! Tragic what happened to poor Amy. I think it is deffo her in the pictures. Have you ever heard of or looked into Missing 411? Its about people going missing in very strange circumstances in national parks in North America. There are some fictional r/nosleep stories based on it, (namely the staircases in the woods stories) but the disappearances are fascinating and terrifying at the same time. Would highly recommend! Love as always x

Jesus, Human trafficking is fucking terrifying. Those pictures of her from 2005 are wildly disturbing, because in my opinion there's no way that it's not her. Great pod as always, and that naval officer is a disgrace. Fuck your career, a woman's life has been stolen from her. I have no idea how he rationalised that to himself. Piece of Garbo.

This is probably a controversial opinion, but stigmatizing/over regulating consensual sex work makes a lot of room for non consensual sex trafficking (like with the naval officer in this story or the high demand for trafficking). I can’t imagine how horrifying it is for Amy and her family.

Smeg Lips…I don’t know why but i believe that was the patron name where you slowed down and zoomed in on. It has stayed with me…nigh on 2 years now. Smeg Lips.

This case always makes me feel so hollow, it’s so desperately sad and the fact that there could’ve been a chance to save her that the navy officer willingly let pass is infuriating. It has to be her in those photos, harrowing is the right word. Another case that involves photos post-disappearance is Tara Calico, you may have seen it before.

When I saw this episode title I screamed! It was me that send the message to you about this case. thank you so much for covering this. Im obsessed with this case in the same way that you are about Maura murray. How is there so much information and yet nobody saw a thing? Why does it sound like people know something and yet every piece of information hasn’t been a concrete lead. How do you get someone off a ship? How do you get them around without anyone noticing anything suspicious. If she is alive how has she not escaped. ? The whole thing is baffling

Oh and it’s a YES HELLO YES to me as part of the midnight society for the first time ☺️ as a new(ish) patreon I’m currently working my way through the back catalogue, starting with all “missing” or “mysteries”, as wrong as it sounds listening to/watching True Crime is my way of relaxing. I tend to agree with you about Amy. If it’s not her in those emailed pictures, it’s someone who looks exactly like her! Unfortunately human trafficking is a lot more common than we think. If she was related to me I don’t know which would actually hurt more, the fact that she was dead or the fact that she was still alive suffering through sexual slavery
