Questions for Today's Livestream

Comments

Hi. I would like to recommend to you the services of Townsend's Customer support. They are friendly, helpful, and go out of their way to provide satisfaction. 😁

Sue O'Connor

Sorry, Kyle didn't get to that one. Yes they are certainly a bit like banana, maybe more in taste than texture. The have a creamier texture kind of like avocado.

Jon Townsend

I like the way you say, I don't know.... Yet. 😁

Sue O'Connor

Thank you so much for the answer, Jon!

I always enjoy these livestreams to listen too while traveling home every friday. My question for this week is how was colonial tobacco harvested to be used during the time and was the trade of tobacco during this period big between other countries and their colonies as well?

Logan Cavender

Look forward to the livestream- how goes the cabin dare we hope for 8ft? There seems to be a lot of space between the logs - for the chinking was it common to fill it with rocks and other random stuff then with the cement like substance to “glue” it in place? - btw you can just refer to me as Noe... sounds like Joey - No-e.

What did people who lived in Colonial America do for entertainment? Was theater something that was attended in the colonies, or was that more of a thing done in England?

Jay Malone

Would love to know as I have never had one.

What are the plans for the log cabin? Will it become the new kitchen for videos since you mentioned the current kitchen is not well ventilated or insulated.

Can you cover more about selecting clothing, sizing and style? Looking at your online catalog can be overwhelming. Also are you familiar with the Battle of Brandywine in PA? A reenactor told us that there were 1,000 "soldiers" on the field last year.

Philip Esteban

I'll mention it. Thanks

Jon Townsend

I'll think on this one!

Jon Townsend

Ok, Great question

Jon Townsend

Hi Jon. Have you ever been to Hart Square Village in North Carolina? It is a huge collection of original log cabins that were purchased and moved by an enthusiast and located all in one place. It's in Vale, NC just south of Hickory. Well worth a visit.

Nick T

You touched on letter correspondence in one of the writing episodes, and have touched once or twice on packages between individuals, but how were commercial goods shipped and delivered in the period? I know mail order was in the future, but how were commercial goods shipped to retail establishments?

Thank you for acknowledging last week's question. I'd like to know if PawPaw tastes of banana too or is it just similar in consistency?
