Are there too many ads on Youtube?

I have notice an abundance of ads recently on Youtube.  I am asking for your feedback.

I have created a simple (quick) survey here:   https://forms.gle/8GuEX6MvA3PSevFc8

You can also put your thoughts in the comments below.

Are there too many ads on Youtube?

I train YouTube by the thumbs up/down feature on ads. Now I get things I'm actually interested in. I bought my husband a gift off of something advertised on your channel. I hope you got a commission for it. :-) I would not block ads, because to me they are the "price" of accessing YouTube for "free." Someone's got to pay for the YouTube servers. Let the ad buyers do it.

Oh yeah! I also definitely noticed a lot of advertising, it is too much on YouTube and it saddens, and at some points it’s just annoying

Odd, my comment here seems to have not posted, so lets try again. I only see the ads when I start the video on my phone, but once I cast it to the TV the ad is gone. You could try hosting videos on archive.org for early commercial-free patreon access. As much as I despise some of the commercials, if you are getting some money from YouTube then I can put up with them.

I recommend YouTube premium it comes almost for the same price with YouTube music and the later is a great replacement for Spotify.

I can't hack the lies. Almost by definition the Ads are half truths and deception with the benefit going to someone else. That doesn't seem like a good time at the best of times. So I patreon and skip the adds with ad blockers. The youtube join thing doesn't seem to be a fair deal just a fig leaf to protect ad company relations.

I watch it on Roku app and on Fire TV app... so it goes on my big TVs and it is full screen so no side bar ads. Yes there are ads that will cut right into the middle of long videos (like a commercial break)... but not live streams. ??? Anyhoo, I can skip the ads after a few seconds so it does not bother me so much. The program picks up right where it left off. Although, Roku seems to get cut into with ads much more often. I am not sure if I paid for Yahoo Streaming TV if this would go away or not... I have subscribed to way too many Youtube channels that are free to bother paying for their streaming service.

If I remember correctly, using ad blockers can have a negative impact on the channel that the ad is being shown on. I feel like I read somewhere that because it counts as no engagement by the viewer, then the channel doesn’t get the revenue. I could be wrong about that since I’m just recalling from memory. I don’t mind the ads so much as long as they go to support the free entertainment that over a million people enjoy.

YouTube has definitely increased the amount and the lengthy of ads lately. A note to all of your viewers, installing a good ad blocking web browser extension (like Adblock Plus for Chrome) can block all of the ads, and make it a much more enjoyable viewing experience. In general I don’t mind ads as much on YouTube as I would on another platform (depending on the content of the ad I suppose), because I am not paying anything for YouTube. It is a free service and ad revenue is their primary source of income, and that same revenue is shared with content creators to help them continue to produce videos.

Yeah they have doubled up on the ad breaks. It's starting to feel like old cable TV
